Office of Clinical Trials

The Office of Clinical Trials (OCT) is a group of highly trained, experienced research nurses and administrative support staff, whose primary role is to support physicians conducting clinical trials. The Clinical Trials Office has participated in Phase I, II, III and IV trials. The trials have originated from pharmaceutical sponsors, the National Cancer Institute, joint studies with other medical institutions, and investigator-initiated trials.

Investigators may use their own experienced research staff to assist them in their studies. Or, investigators may wish to use the services of the Clinical Trials Office, including:

  • Protocol logistical guidance (applicable to investigator-initiated studies)
  • Preparation of regulatory documents
  • Full study coordination
  • Site initiation
  • Patient recruitment, screening, and scheduling
  • Assistance in consenting and appropriate documentation
  • Oversight of medication and protocol compliance
  • Coordination with pharmacy and diagnostic laboratory services
  • Data entry
  • OrthCase report forms (CRFs)
  • Adverse event reporting
  • Coordination of monitor visits from sponsors
